MixBit App Is Beautiful

Hey creative minds! I’m here to introduce you to a new app called MixBit.

Now, If you’ve been to the app store you know there are millions of different apps and there are a lot of people forcing their apps on you, but MixBit is an app worth having.

I’ve never been a person that has all the latest apps. I usually go to the app store, get what I need and get out. No playing around to see what’s out there. My sister is big on apps. Her iphone is full of apps for different uses and even with my friends I feel like I’m lacking in the app arena. So, I said when I have the time I will actually take a look at these apps. I was on my ipad which searches both iphone and Ipad apps. I came across MixBit.

Here are the key things I saw when I was browsing whether to download MixBit:

1) From the creators of Youtube

– If the creators of Youtube are coming up with a new app, it’s definitely worth checking out.

2) MixBit app helps people create videos TOGETHER

– Keyword there is together. I don’t know what it is, but I like to be connected. I like to make a connection with other people. I also believe that many brains are better than one. The possibilities seem endless.

3) The Mixbit website lets users collaborate with each other and remix videos uploaded by the community. Visitors to can make their own videos without shooting original content by remixing video clips they find on the site.

-Collaborate is another keyword for me. As well as being able to create new videos without shooting original context. There are some people who are more about telling a story than actually filming the stories.

So, I downloaded the app and started to really have some fun.

First video is called Being Healthy? Which features my face a lot.

These other two have been created using other content found on the website.

I have made a few more videos on there, but I think you get the picture from these. As an author and writer as many of my blog followers are, this app is a very straight forward thing. As a writer I know that stories have a beginning, middle and an end. That is the exact same with remixes on MixBit. You take any clips you want and tell a story. For me this is so much fun. I think it’s probably too much fun for me right now.

I feel that many people on MixBit right now aren’t sure what it is they are supposed to be doing. They’re treating MixBit like any other video sharing app. Right now when I make a MixBit remix video I try to include a lot of clips to include a lot of users. Why? I want to show people the potential their clips have and what they could do with a simple video about sipping coffee or whatever it may be.

If you feel that MixBit is just like any other video app then you’re doing it wrong. MixBit takes short clip creation like Vine & Instagram and remixes it to where you could create hours on one video with the help of people worldwide.

Don’t be nervous about creating your first video. I was definitely nervous about making my first remix, but you have to just go for it. Once you start searching for clips, placing them together and watching the final product you will enjoy yourself. You will start to see why I have fallen in love with this app.

This is a very new app right now, so I’m sure there will be changes and/or upgrades, in the end all I can say is MixBit is beautiful.

Do Writers Write Every Day?

Hey y’all, so I was wondering what everyone thought about writers having to write every day.  I talked about it on my youtube channel today, but I wanted to ask all my writers here on my blog.

I feel that writing every day isn’t necessary if you have a grasp on your writing style. I think that if you trouble with certain things or don’t have the greatest imagination then you might want to practice writing.

I always have ideas coming from everything and I don’t write every day, but I don’t think my writing suffers because of that. I think that if you want to be a writer and don’t know what to write about or what you like then yes, you need to write and you need to find something that you enjoy writing about and you need to find your voice, but for me that’s not the case.

I write when I want to and I know my voice, so I focus on novel writing when I feel like writing.

I think the main thing is not to stress writing either. If you love writing then it should never feel like stressful, annoying work.

Youtube & Writers

I want to talk about Youtube. I have a Youtube channel to make funny videos and post my video book reviews. I’m always going back and forth in my mind on whether as a writer, a reader and an author is there more that I can do with Youtube.

I always watch people who have talents in cooking, singing, dancing etc that are more visual than writing and I get envious. People with those talents can quickly share their work on instagram, vine, youtube and more without getting people clicking off. I feel like writing something and reading it via Youtube people may be bored by that.

I want to give Youtube writing a try. It won’t be like Instagram writing where people post a chapter of a story with every picture they post. I think I want to talk more about all the ideas that come in my head, writing industry stuff, help promote other writers and more things along those lines.

As a self-published author of 14 books and still being very young, I think that I have a lot that I can share as well as learn from everyone out there. I just want to find ways to connect with other writers, authors and readers.

Any thoughts? I’d love to hear them.

13 Things About Pacific Rim

1. Pacific Rim is perfectly amazing.

2. Pacific Rim gets right into the heart of the story.

3. The cast was picked perfectly for each part.

4. Kajiu (giant monsters) were scary and big and awesome

5. Jaegers (giant robots) were massive and kickass

6. The music wasn’t the normal Transformers/ Inception music.

7. As a person that loves It’s Always Sunny I was happy to see Charlie Day. (he was also so perfectly picked)

8. Ron Perlman…enough said.

9. Idris Elba…enough said.

10. Kickass female character that doesn’t have to use sex to be kickass

11. Totally unpredictable and many times you find yourself asking how are they going to get themselves out

of this one.

12. We are very far into the future in this movie and yet, there’s still paper & chalkboards being used.

13. This was a really fast placed movie that had so much detail. It all goes by so quickly. I feel like this could have been a trilogy because there’s a lot that could be further explained or we could have a deeper understanding of characters. I say this all as an author and not a screenwriter. I did find out that there is a prequel graphic novel that is supposed to explain more of the details for anyone that wants more. LOL

Are Our Characters Really Human?

As authors we have characters that do amazing things, we have characters that don’t do anything all. We have characters that are total fluff and mean nothing to the plot and are forgotten within 5 pages.

But these characters that we create, are they really human?

Do your characters use the bathroom ever?

Do your characters eat three meals a day?

Do your characters shower daily or weekly or ever?

Do your characters go by a normal week?

Do you keep track of day of the week for extra detail?

Do your characters change clothes every day?

There are so many things that are so small of a detail, but at the same time they seem so big. If I was to include the shower every morning that my character had would people get annoyed? If I told you the outfit each day that the character changed into would you care? Do you think it’s weird that my characters are on a journey and I haven’t mentioned once how they are bathing or using the bathroom?

Of course, yes if you’re characters are human then they do these things, but is it necessary to include alllll of these details? I guess not.

The Purgatory Press/ After The End BOOK REVIEW

The Purgatory Press/ After The End  by John Culbert

4 out 5 rating

Vanished poets, overlooked artists, hapless visionaries: The Purgatory Press opens a tantalizing window on a publisher’s catalogue of improbable books. Dark, comical, and startlingly inventive, After the End is a dazzling display of postmodern storytelling. These short fictions showcase the many talents of an emerging author.
