Now Playing: Gold Kush

Wow, I haven’t done a now playing blog in a while, so I’ve got a short one for you. If you’ve been keeping up with me, you know that I’ve been working on my ebook, Grime Diary: The American Interpretation. The ebook is free and is already out now, but I won’t be promoting it on my website and twitter until tomorrow. I really hope that you show your support and download a free copy of Grime Diary: The American Interpretation.

The reason I bring up my new ebook is because Grime is from the UK, so I’ve had my toes in their musical waters. Lately, I’ve been exposed to so many talented artist over there. I had been tweeting a lot about their music and I started following this girl, Gold Kush (@Gold_Kush). You know on twitter people claim to be all kinds of things. I have people harass me over book publishing until they finally realize that I’m a publish author and not a fake. So, Gold Kush’s twitter said she was an MC. I never doubted it, but I never checked her youtube page. I had forgotten I followed her until I saw a video today on my timeline of hers.

You can’t lie and say the flow isn’t good. She’s really reppin’ and I love it. Basically, I want everyone to keep this girl on your radar. Follow her and check out her youtube channel. She’s got even more bangers on her youtube channel.

Stay Classy.

Grime Diary: The American Interpretation out soon!

Now Playing: Condoms & Condiments by Bob Swags

Now Playing: Condoms & Condiments (mixtape) by Bob Swags.

With a mixtape name like ‘Condoms & Condiments you know it’s bound to be a party, & this mixtape proves to be nothing less than that. Bob Swags is a rapper from New Haven, Connecticut. He isn’t just a rapper though. He’s an electro rapper which is unique and also seems to be a lot more fun. I couldn’t compare this mixtape to any other that I’ve heard because who does a whole mixtape of rapping with electro beats and a bit of autotune? Not many, but if I had to say what his sound is like… I would say Jason Derulo party beat + a little Derulo autotune + Mac Miller’s flow mixed into one swag child. That’s right. I just said swag child. (I never say swag.) Every song has a new beat and a new feel. You go from too drunk to drive to 10 drinks that’s far too many and 10 joints I’m far too kind to singing in Love Suicide. My personal favorite is Feelin’ Like which has over 1,000 views on youtube.  It’s such a fun mixtape and Bob Swags has sucha great flow you would have thought this was his third mixtape. The future looks good for this guy.

Lyrics Today Suck!

I love music. From the instruments used to create the background to the lyrics and flow the artist unleashes. A good beat alone cannot make up for the artist lack of flow and lyrical talent. I’m not a big fan of listening to anything on the radio. I get into the car and plug in my ipod before I hear anything. Many artists are very talented when it comes to flow or singing abilities, but their words are pure crap. Some spend half the time reciting one word such as “ass” or “cake” then they have a catchy chorus to fill in the for the lyrics they didn’t want to take the time to write. IT’S CRAZY that people actually replay these songs as if 3 minutes of the loop wasn’t enough. Then there’s other artist that all they do is go back and forth comparing things. Their songs should all be called Random because none of it pertains to what the song is really about. They just go on a rant of crap that sounds well together. I get so upset when a song has an amazing beat and an artist does a horrible job. It’s sucha sad moment. Stay on topic, talk about something worth telling about, great you have cars and cash, but not everyone listening today does. UGHHH . I have a headache. I can’t continue this post.
